Alas!<\/p>\n<p>Another event &#8211; this one closer to home, and I&#8217;m going to be there! &#8211; the <a href=\"http:\/\/companionanimalwelfaresociety.org.au\/events\/#expo\">Adelaide Animal Expo<\/a>.\u00a0 The <a href=\"http:\/\/cawsinc.org.au\/\">Companion Animal Welfare Society (CAWS)<\/a> will be attending, and I will be there with my borders. Hope I might see some of my Adelaide readers there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dog Training and Behaviour<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A punishment method highlighting how an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.clickandtreat.com\/html\/offleadinhibitions.HTM \">efficient and safe punishment<\/a> is often easier to implement and has prompter results than a long-term reward method. And mixed no words with her post: &#8220;<a href=\"www.honestdog.com\/2012\/03\/09\/fancy-reacts-with-outrage-over-denying-two-train-wreck-dogs-their-trophies\/\">&#8216;Fancy&#8217; reacts with outrage over denying train-wreck breeds their trophies<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>Terrierman talks about several breeds (specifically the Bulldog, Pekingese, and Clumber Spaner) <a href=\"terriermandotcom.blogspot.com.au\/2012\/03\/bulldog-and-pekingese-fail-crufts-vet.html\">failing the new health tests at Crufts<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A news article on a couple who spent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-2110001\/Couple-spend-10-000-cosmetic-surgery-DOG-Junior-bloodhound-undergoes-nip-tuck-operation.html\">\u00a310,000 on &#8216;cosmetic surgery&#8217; for a facelift for their bloodhound<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dog Health<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\" http:\/\/k9pro.com.au\/blog\/?p=228\">Is pet insurance worth it?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dogs Naturally wrote about challenging &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com\/veterinarian-ultimate-vaccine-authority\/\">the ultimate vaccine authority<\/a>&#8216;: The vet, in regards to vaccine health.<\/p>\n<p>ThatMutt spoke about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thatmutt.com\/2012\/03\/06\/dog-vaccinations-what-not-to-do\/\">What Not To Do regarding dog vaccinations<\/a>\u00a0(and also wrote a great post on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thatmutt.com\/2012\/03\/08\/the-dog-body-shake-why-does-my-dog-shake-his-body\/ \">why does my dog shake his body?<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>My Dogs Love Me wrote a post about\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mydogslove.me\/2012\/03\/turmeric-dramatically-reduces-rins-eye.html?spref=tw\">turmeric in reducing a dog&#8217;s eye cyst<\/a>. \u00a0I had heard about turmeric&#8217;s benefits, but was I excited to see some &#8216;first hand&#8217; experience on its success.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dog Rescue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prisoners for Profit commented on the recent saga with the Pet Industry Association of Australia: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.prisonersforprofit.org.au\/?p=632\">Pet Industry Out of Touch<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>At Love and a Six Foot Leash they shared the story of Lollie the Wonderdog, and how her new home was a work in process, and not &#8216;love at first site&#8217;. Read about it with: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/loveandaleash.com\/2012\/03\/07\/a-hard-transition-lollie-wonderdogs-story\/\">A Hard Transition<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>As always, Saving Pets provided a worthwhile analysis of an Australian pound, this time looking at what may be &#8216;Australia&#8217;s worst council pound&#8217; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.savingpets.com.au\/2012\/02\/campbelltown-is-this-australias-worst-council-pound\/\">Campbelltown Pound<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As we know, getting pets out of shelters is partly about marketing, and photography is a huge step of marketing. <a href=\" http:\/\/secondchancephotos.org\/  \">Second Chance Photos<\/a> is a fantastic project aiming to save pets through photography.<\/p>\n<p>Pet MD Asks: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.petmd.com\/blogs\/purelypuppy\/lradosta\/2011\/nov\/why_do_dogs_end_up_on_death_row#.T3PIb-yok1e\">Why do so many dogs end up on death row for peeing in the house?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Reducing stress and boredom in pound environments is important to making dogs don&#8217;t go &#8216;kennel crazy&#8217; and become (debatably) &#8216;unadoptable&#8217;.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.animalfarmfoundation.org\/pages\/TRAINING_AND_ENRICHMENT-ENRICHMENT-VIDEOS  \">These videos<\/a>, from the Animal Farm Foundation, shows a process in making awesome Kong and ice treats.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t assume that the lost dog you find is uncared for! <a href=\"http:\/\/lostdogsofwisconsin.org\/2012\/02\/19\/assumptions-usually-lead-us-down-the-wrong-path\/\">Assumptions usually lead us down the wrong path<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other Dog Stuff<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The KC Dog Blog looks at &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/btoellner.typepad.com\/kcdogblog\/2012\/03\/political-irrationality.html\">political irrationality<\/a>&#8216;, a video on TED, and then applies this conduct to notions of breed specific legislation.<\/p>\n<p>Interesting post from the Canine Corner by Stanley Coren about the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.psychologytoday.com\/blog\/canine-corner\/201203\/the-heroic-dog-the-titanic\">dogs on the Titanic ship<\/a>. Still getting through all their existing great content!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Non-Animal Stuff<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is extremely off topic.
