This is a brief post that explains what &#8216;papers&#8217; are \u00a0and a &#8216;registered breeder&#8217; is, to ensure that you don&#8217;t find yourself ripped off in your puppy purchase.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=1399378736948997&amp;set=gm.476000465825324&amp;type=1&amp;theater\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3259 alignright\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/leemakennels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/536876_1399378736948997_487303115_n.jpg\" width=\"382\" height=\"478\" srcset=\"http:\/\/leemakennels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/536876_1399378736948997_487303115_n.jpg 382w, http:\/\/leemakennels.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/536876_1399378736948997_487303115_n-239x300.jpg 239w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 382px) 100vw, 382px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>What are &#8216;papers&#8217;?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you say, &#8216;a purebred puppy with papers&#8217;, then the ANKC (Australian National Kennel Council) pedigree papers is what &#8216;the papers&#8217; bit is.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s also a good idea, when purchasing a puppy, to look for other documentation, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A vaccination certificate<\/li>\n<li>A microchipping certificate<\/li>\n<li>A vet check certificate or similar (keep in mind that vaccines can only be administered to healthy animals, so if the puppy is vaccinated, s\/he should&#8217;ve been &#8216;healthy&#8217; at the time of vaccination)<\/li>\n<li>Any relevant health testing paperwork for parents and puppy (this will depend on the breed)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is a &#8216;registered&#8217; breeder?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When people refer to a &#8216;registered&#8217; breeder, they are referring to a breeder which is registered with an ANKC member body (such as Dogs SA, Dogs Victoria, and so forth).
