Tweet of the Week

It’s common knowledge that too many victims of domestic violence stay with their partners because they can’t find temporary accommodation for their pets.  They also often can’t leave their pets with their partners, because they are concerned that they may harm the pets in ‘revenge’ attacks.  It was touching to watch this video on the pet shelter at Rose Brooks Centre.  I truly hope that this sets a trend for women shelter’s internationally.

A lot of what Roger Abrantes writes is a bit over my head, I admit. It takes a lot of concentrating to read his articles, and I do intend to, at some point, re-write in a simplistic way his latest blog post: “Dog training – let reason prevail over force!” He provides very sensible, rationale, and believable arguments on dominance in dog training. Until I find the time to para phrase this blog post, I suggest you have a read of the original.

I really enjoyed reading Captive Animals Act Smarter.  It looks at reasons why captive animals test ‘smarter’ on some tasks. An interesting read.
